We work in public
Where a project is open, code, discussions, and decisions are visible to everyone. Anyone can follow the development or suggest improvements.
About
Naxod Lab is a small, Europe-based studio. We design software, apps, and websites that favor simplicity: easy to use, easy to maintain, no unnecessary features. Our code is public where possible, and our projects are made to last.
Where a project is open, code, discussions, and decisions are visible to everyone. Anyone can follow the development or suggest improvements.
We prefer regular, careful releases to big announcements. The software we make is designed to stay useful over time.
After release we keep fixing and improving. And where the code is open, anyone can carry the work on, tomorrow too.
Principles
A good tool is used without explanations. We add features only when they are genuinely needed.
Code, reports, and discussions are public. When something is broken, it shows.
Few permissions, careful data handling, no surprises in later versions.
Software shouldn’t ask you to buy a new computer. Our applications run well on older machines too.
Technologies
Android apps in Kotlin: everyday use, on-phone storage, only the permissions that are needed.
Tools for Windows, macOS, and Linux: simple installation, local processing, clear interfaces.
Static sites and server applications: fast, accessible, no user tracking.
Automatic summaries and analysis run on the user’s computer, without sending files to external services.
We experiment with new tools as well, always with the same criteria: simplicity and open code.
Collaboration
Based in Europe, working remotely. Development happens in public repositories where possible: reports, discussions, and proposals are open to everyone.
Anyone using our software is free to stay or to choose something else, with no strings attached: that is why we try to make it genuinely useful, every day.
